Date/Time: Tuesday, April 30th at 3:00 – 4:00 pm ET

Speaker: Judah S. Garfinkle, DMD, MS

Description: Clear aligner therapy has been around for over 20 years, but there is little discussion about its use in the management of cleft and palate. We will discuss the objectives of the various orthodontic phases in cleft lip and palate care and review cases in which clear aligners were used to achieve the treatment goals.

Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Discuss the relative pros/cons between clear aligners and traditional braces.
  • Explain one case presentation in which clear aligners were used to achieve the treatment goal in one orthodontic phase in cleft lip and palate care.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Self-assess a gain in knowledge related to treating patients with clear aligners.
  • Self-assess that they will be able to apply knowledge gained to their patient management, which will improve patient outcomes.
