“Caffé Sospeso” translates to “suspended coffee,” more commonly known as paying it forward. As I learned, the saying is rooted in the Neapolitan tradition of buying a coffee for oneself, and paying in advance for the next person as a sign of generosity and kindness. Many considered their own good fortunes for the day, and wanted to extend that to help another.
As providers of cleft and craniofacial care, the work you choose to do is the ultimate act of altruism, and your choice to be an ACPA member is one that as a collective community enhances the profession. The patients and families whose lives are improved by you – an ACPA member – feel the positive impact within their homes on a daily basis. Your choice to do this work is inherently the ultimate act of Caffé Sospeso – generosity and solidarity with those you care for.
This holiday season, we are grateful for all our members who make ACPA what it is and will become in 2022 and beyond! Our ACPA Staff Team is passionately committed to the mission of ACPA. Thank YOU for being a part of our community and making our progress possible.
Our 2,000+ committed members, board of directors, volunteers, donors, and partners ensure this community thrives.
Wishing you and yours a safe and joyful holiday season, with gratitude,
Adam Levy
