Team Care

Providing comprehensive interdisciplinary cleft and craniofacial care through ACPA Approved Teams.

ACPA connects patients affected by cleft and craniofacial conditions to more than 200 ACPA Approved Teams in the U.S. and Canada. ACPA Team Approval ensures that care is provided in a coordinated and consistent manner with the proper sequencing of evaluations and treatments within the framework of the patient’s overall developmental, medical, and psychological needs.

ACPA’s focus continues to be the pursuit of excellence in the delivery of team care for patients with cleft and craniofacial conditions. That’s why ACPA is working to update the Parameters for Evaluation and Treatment of Patients with Cleft Lip/Palate and Other Craniofacial Conditions. You can help turn this vital document into a research-cited resource that positively impacts how care is delivered to patients, not only in the U.S. but globally.

Healthcare Advocacy

Advocating for causes that positively impact the lives of people born with cleft and craniofacial conditions.

ACPA works to advocate for causes that impact the lives of individuals born with cleft and craniofacial conditions to both the public and policymakers within the organization’s 501(c)(3) status.

ACPA currently supports:
• Accelerating Kids’ Access to Care Act
• Ally’s Act
• Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act (ELSA)

Your support could change insurance coverage for medically necessary care, simplify out-of-state Medicaid screening and enrollment for pediatric care
providers, or provide coverage for hearing devices for children and adults.

Innovative Research

Advancing research to transform the future of cleft and craniofacial care.

ACPA has conducted a multidisciplinary Annual Meeting since 1943, focusing on state-of-the art techniques and research.

ACPA disseminates research through The Cleft Palate Craniofacial Journal, the official publication of ACPA. The journal draws from around the world for its interdisciplinary approach to growth, development, diagnosis, and treatment — the provision of optimal clinical services — in all areas pertaining to craniofacial differences.

Your support of today’s research will help shape how care is delivered in the future.

Volunteers

Supporting ACPA’s mission, volunteers help implement programs that positively impact people affected by cleft and craniofacial conditions.

Volunteers help drive ACPA’s mission.

ACPA is governed by the Board of Directors, which establishes Association policy and monitors activities as they are implemented by the National Office Team.

ACPA committees (represented by members from more than 15 disciplines and community members, including patients and their families) work to implement the strategic plan developed by the Board of Directors.

Your unrestricted support of ACPA allows volunteers to keep moving the mission forward, striving for a membership association that provides innovative education, meaningful mentorship opportunities, and ultimately the best care possible to all patients in the cleft and craniofacial community.

Education

Educating cleft and craniofacial specialists worldwide with the latest research and clinical innovations to enhance patient care.

ACPA strives to enhance and expand educational opportunities for professionals so they can provide the best possible care to patients.
